Zines... in Stores... NOW???
Water Monitor, my 32-page 18+ erotic-horror surrealist furry comic, is now available for purchase! It is being sold online and in-store by Lucky's Books and Comics, an extremely dope, indie-focused, not-at-all gatekeepy comics store (comics shops scare me) at 3128 Main St in so-called vancouver. Even if you don't want my comic, I seriously recommend browsing the shop, it's so cool. I picked up this comic by Dina Omut while I was there, it's about a hermit girl falling in love with a mushroom and it's like the sickest shit I've ever seen.
And... if you want a print copy of my poetry zine / unwriting of a suicide note Justification of Life, you can find it AND Water Monitor on shelves at Cross & Crows Books, a cozy, queer-focused, beautiful little bookshop with a fantastic zine section. They're located at 2836 Commercial Dr, just a couple blocks south of the Skytrain station. That shop is run by one of the warmest people I've ever met, and I also encourage you to check them out if you ever happen to be in the area.
It takes everything I have just to produce my work; I am not a salesman and I do not want to have to figure out mailing things to people. So, I'm beyond grateful to be working with local shops run by people who know what they're doing. (The zines are locally printed too, and if you're from East Van you already know that Sean's the best). I might make the PDF of Water Monitor available on itch at some point, but I designed it as physical media, and I think it works better that way. Justification of Life may be released in an alternate format at some point in the future, but for now it's staying a print zine.
TYSM for your interest, and I hope you like 'em!
